TG4 is a public service television network based in Ireland, broadcasting free-to-air content since its launch on 31 October 1996. Formerly known as Teilifís na Gaeilge, the channel underwent a rebranding campaign in 1999 to become TG4. The station broadcasts both Irish language and English language programming with an emphasis on Gaelic culture.

The channel can be accessed online via its streaming service TG4 Player which allows viewers to watch live TV streams of the station's broadcast content from anywhere in the world. The service also offers catch up options for those who may have missed their favourite shows or programmes. In addition, TG4 also provides access to a range of radio stations through its website including RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (RnaG), RTÉ 2fm and Radio Nova among others.

TG4 has been praised for promoting Irish culture through its broadcasting output, offering viewers insight into traditional music, literature and art forms as well as more contemporary genres such as comedy and drama series produced by independent filmmakers from around Ireland. The channel has won numerous awards over the years including two IFTA awards for Best Entertainment Programme (2015) and Best Music Programme (2016).

In recent years, TG4 has continued to expand its reach beyond Ireland by launching international channels in Europe, North America and Australia allowing audiences worldwide to enjoy Irish language programming without having to leave their homes or travel abroad. This expansion demonstrates that despite being relatively small compared to other broadcasters around the world; TG4 remains committed to providing high quality entertainment whilst preserving Gaelic culture for future generations of viewers everywhere!
