TVR 2 is the second channel of the Romanian Television Society, established on May 2, 1968 under the name "Program 2" with coverage only in Bucharest. It began broadcasting from June 16, 1968 on Thursdays and Sundays and from July 20, 1968 it was broadcasted also on Saturdays.

Today TVR 2 provides a wide range of programming including news programs, entertainment shows and sports events. It also broadcasts live tv streams for viewers to watch online or through their television sets.
