NRT2 is the first independent Kurdish satellite channel owned by Nalia company and based in Sulaymani. It was established in 2008 as a part of the Nalia Radio Television network, with its main focus on news and entertainment. The channel broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing viewers with up-to-date information about politics, economics, culture and sports from Iraq's Kurdistan region. The programming of NRT2 consists mainly of news bulletins and talk shows discussing current affairs; however it also includes variety shows such as comedy sketches, music videos and live performances. In addition to this there are educational programmes for children which aim to promote literacy among young Kurds.
In recent years NRT2 has become increasingly popular due to its coverage of major events such as elections or protests taking place in Iraqi Kurdistan. This has made it one of the most watched channels in the region - both locally and abroad - allowing people living outside Iraq to stay informed about what is happening back home.
For those who cannot access NRT2 through their television sets at home or via satellite dishes, they can watch live TV streams online through various websites including YouTube or DailyMotion . This makes it easier for people all over the world to keep up with developments taking place in Iraqi Kurdistan without having to be physically present there themselves.
Overall then ,NRT2 provides an invaluable service not only for Kurds but anyone interested in staying abreast of regional news from Iraq’s autonomous region . With its comprehensive coverage , entertaining content ,and easy accessibility thanks to streaming services ,it is no wonder that this channel continues to attract more viewers every year .
