SC Currents is the community television of Santa Cruz County (CTV), a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides tools, training and programming to foster dialogue, civic engagement and self-expression through television, the internet and other digital media. SC Currents offers viewers an opportunity to watch live TV streams of local news coverage as well as original content produced by members of the community.

The mission of SC Currents is to provide access to media production equipment, education in its use, and broadcast opportunities for individuals from all walks of life in order to promote free speech, creative expression, cultural diversity and civic participation. The station also serves as a platform for underrepresented voices in our society such as youth or people with disabilities.

In addition to providing educational resources on how to create video content for broadcast on their channel or online streaming services like YouTube or Vimeo, SC Currents also produces weekly programs featuring topics ranging from local politics and current events to arts & culture. They have even launched a series called “Santa Cruz Stories” which features interviews with locals about their experiences living in Santa Cruz County.
