WTHR (channel 13) is a television station in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside low-power, Class A MeTV affiliate WALV-CD (channel 46). Both stations share studios on North Meridian Street (south of I-65) in downtown Indianapolis, while WTHR's transmitter is located near Ditch Road and West 96th Street in Carmel.

The station first signed on the air on October 15, 1957 as WLWI; it was the third television station to sign on in Indianapolis. The station was originally owned by Metropolitan Broadcasting Corporation along with WLWI radio (560 AM and now WIBC; and 94.7 FM, now WFMS). The call letters were changed to the current WTHR on December 1, 1971.

WTHR has been an NBC affiliate for all but four months of its existence: from 1957 until June 30, 1959, when channel 13 shared ABC programming with then-WTTV channel 4 due to WTTV being unable to secure a secondary affiliation with any other network at that time; from September 1 until December 31, 1959 when channel 13 became an independent station after losing the ABC affiliation back to WTTV; from January 1 until March 31, 1982 when it swapped affiliations with then-NBC affiliate WHAT-TV channel 8 due to that station's owner not wanting to pay the network's increased programming costs; and from September 10 until October 11 of that same year when a power outage at its transmitter forced it off the air for nearly a month and led NBC to temporarily disaffiliate from the station out of frustration over its lack of coverage during this period.

In 1999 Hearst Television (now Hearst Television Inc.) bought Metropolitan Broadcasting Corporation outright for $31 million dollars making them owners of both channels 13 & 46. In 2000 they moved into their current facility on Meridian St just south of downtown Indy which had been built for them by Emmis Communications who also occupied space there until selling their radio stations in 2009 & moving out shortly thereafter leaving only channels 13 & 46 as occupants today.

On June 29th 2015 Gannett Company announced plans to split into two publicly traded companies: one focused on print media and named TEGNA Inc., which would retain ownership of Channel 13 & 46; and another called Gannett Co., focused exclusively on digital media properties such as USA Today. The split was finalized on June 29th 2016 making TEGNA sole owner of both Channel 13 & 46 once again under common management..
